IDO Acrobatic Dance Championships

A group of talented members of the Sea to Sky community, whom you know and love, have been chosen by TEAM CANADA DANCE to represent our country at the official IDO World Acrobatic Dance Championships to be held in Gibraltar, June 30-July 7, 2024.

Auditions for Team Canada Dance brought some of the best dancers from across Canada to vie for a position to represent Canada at the prestigious event. The International Dance Organization (IDO), is a World Dance and Dance-Sport Federation with a membership of over 90 nations, representing more than 250,000 dancers from six continents. The best dancers from around the world will be competing for the World Championship title. Please see www.ido-dance.com for more information about the championships. Dancers of this caliber train for many hours a week in order to represent their country with pride. Team Canada Dance is a non-profit organization and does not get funding for their dancers, contrary to many of our counterparts in Europe who are recognized by their Olympic Committees and are financially supported.

Each dancer must raise over $8,000 to cover all travel, hotel, rehearsal and entry fees. Additionally, they must pay for their own costumes and choreography.

The great news is, 100% of what you are donating goes directly to the dancers, supporting their participation in the IDO World Championships! Thank you for anything you can contribute to these grateful dancers!

About Team Canada Dance

For almost 3 decades, Team Canada Dance has offered elite dancers of Canada an opportunity to represent their country on the world stage. Our organization gives dancers the opportunity to travel, meet other dancers worldwide and to compete as a unified team with other dancers from across Canada. Team Canada Dance also gives Canadian dancers the opportunity to learn from master teachers and choreographers both within Canada and worldwide. We encourage our Team Canada dancers and their supporters to foster good sportsmanship, and to promote Canadian values while exhibiting our remarkable dance training. We only work with the 'best of the best' choreographers who choose the best dancers to represent Canada.
