Steamroller Printmaking Event Sale 2021

2nd Annual Steamroller Printmaking Event

The Creede Arts Council is selling remaining prints from the Second Annual Steamroller Event held on September 18th, 2021, for a limited time. Click on the artwork links for more information about the pieces, sized 24” x 32”, printed with black oil based ink on Tyvek. The prints can be framed or hung on your wall with poster size hanging strips or magnets.

About The Event:
The 2nd annual, free, outdoor, Steamroller Event was a huge success! Crowds of visitors watched a giant road bed compactor print eight colossal woodcuts, created by different artists, on Main Street, Creede, Co.

Artists designed and spent hours carving the giant woodblocks prior to the event. In a collaborative effort by many volunteers, the woodblocks were inked, and printed on the street giving the audience a first hand view of the process. In addition, the spectators were able to meet the artists and buy prints, in which fifty percent of the sales went to the artists and the other half to the Creede Arts Council.

We want to say thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers. Without all of your support this would not have been possible. 2021 Sponsors: The Creede Hotel, Del Norte Bank, El Pomar Foundation, Chuck and Kay Harbert and The Quiller Gallery.

Thank you also to Amanda Palmer for sharing her photos of the 2021 event. (See photo to the left.)
