In 2020 the Caetani Centre experienced a devastating disruption of the many community services, events and programs that we are normally able to provide, due to the unprecedented circumstances of Covid-19.

Now it is 2021 and there are new and exciting changes!
We have received the Caetani collections from both the Vernon and Kelowna Museums and have created a fascinating heritage display about the Caetani family and Sveva’s life.

In March 2021 we also received Sveva’s stunning Recapitulation series from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, a series of over 50 large scale watercolour paintings based on her life story and philosophy.

This fall we will be completing a large accessibility project constructing ramps and renovating washrooms, installing solar panels and including storage racks for additional viewing and access to Sveva’s Recapitulation works in the Gallery, among other things.

Now we are embarking on our next ambitious project, expanding the Gallery exhibition space to hold all of the Recapitulation series.

We couldn’t have done all this without you and we can’t continue without your participation. The easiest, and most fun, way to help is by participating in our Annual Splash of Red!

SIMPLICITY IN THE TIME OF COVID-19
We have opted to move the annual Splash of Red charity auction online in the most simple way possible, as an online auction sale. We will all miss our annual event, but it is impossible to replicate it online – we simply do not have the capacity as an organization to attempt this, and in 2021 the opening of the heritage display took greater precedence.

We DO hope that you will join us again next year in person for this spectacular and fun Italian themed evening, featuring a full four course dinner with wine pairings, entertainment and our signature auction of art by many of the Okanagan’s finest local artists.

The Caetani Centre is a non-profit arts, culture and historical facility dedicated to promoting cultural programs, events and activities. The Caetani Cultural Centre Society was formally incorporated May 21, 2008 and by 2019, the Centre was opened to the public thanks to the Open House Project (Phase I).

The Society currently operates the municipally registered historic house and grounds, including studios and presentation spaces. The facility is owned in trust by the City of Vernon. The Centre provides the following programs and services:
• Heritage and Museum display and presentation spaces.
• Artist and Writer in Residence (AIR, WIR) programs for local, national and international creatives.
• Interdisciplinary community programs: special events, music and writer festivals, public tours, meeting spaces and facility rentals.

We normally hold a live auction each year, the Splash of Red, featuring a sit down Italian family style dinner and entertainment. Curing Covid-19 we have taken the fundraiser online.
