Horse Warriors™ Art Auction 2022

The Horse Warriors™ program has been a part of the Jackson Hole community for more than 20 years, and has included Star Valley for the last 11 years. We are committed to our mission of making the world a better place, one relationship at a time, by connecting people with horses and art.

Horse Warriors™ utilizes equine facilitated learning, a proven teaching approach promoting the development of essential life skills: relationship building, social interaction, empowerment, leadership, confidence and kindness. Working with the horses, in their natural herd environment, teaches students about communities and roles within a culture. Horses are clear and honest communicators whose survival and sustainability depend on their abilities to interact for the benefit of the group. Students learn from them about non-verbal communication, energies, safe boundaries, and cooperation for survival.

They learn compassion and stewardship by caring for aging and compromised horses, and learn how to discern emotional responses through close observation. Deep listening and awareness are essential for accurate communication, and listening - to both horses and humans - creates a better, more truthful, authentic human being. As one of our participants expresses, “Horse Warriors™ has taught me how to understand every horse’s unique language – learning how to treat each and every horse with the care and respect they deserve has helped me learn how to treat humans the same.”

Our auction supports these powerful changes by ensuring that our programs continue to be accessible to our clientele. Art is a foundation of each session, giving everyone a way to share a voice. We are grateful to our donating artists, our guest instructors, staff, and students for championing the intrinsic creativity each of us has. Horse Warriors™ is a safe and welcoming place to share, experiment and develop lifelong skills for self-expression. Horse Warriors™ is an innovative, equine facilitated Leadership and Empowerment program incorporating healthy relationship building, the arts, the outdoor classroom and year-round mentoring. Since 1998 we have offered fun-based, educational programs for youth, families, equine professionals and organizations from our beautiful location in northwest Wyoming.
