Celebrating Our Peterborough Players Community!

Welcome!

The Peterborough Players online auction is back for its third year, running from October 17–October 31. We are excited to offer an array of outstanding items, services, and adventures to our past participants and first-time bidders. Thank you for joining us!

Over this past year—a year that we know has been as challenging for all of you as it has been for the Players—we have been moved by the generosity of our audiences and friends, without whom, we would not have been able to restart with special outdoor summer theatre performances of OUR TOWN, BEEHIVE: THE 60's MUSICAL, and WHERE YOU ARE. You have kept us alive and able to serve this truly special community.

The Players continues to need significant financial help to return to our “new normal.” When we had to cancel the 2020 season, we recognized earned revenue losses of over $500,000. This year, with just three shows in the 2021 Grand Restart lineup, reduced capacity, and the added expenses of producing theatre outdoors in new locations—including downtown Peterborough—with extensive COVID protocols, we need your ongoing support.

With your collective generosity, we can return safely to fully presenting exceptional live professional theatre to audiences in the Monadnock region and beyond. We can continue to innovate and present relevant, thought-provoking, and entertaining plays and musicals, and we can resume offering HD Live at the Met operas and National Theatre screenings from London.

We are so very grateful for your support of our auction and for all that you do for your Peterborough Players!

Thank you!

About the Peterborough Players

Peterborough Players is a cultural treasure; an 90-year-old, fully professional nonprofit Equity theatre in an unexpected setting—an historic barn, three miles outside of downtown Peterborough, NH. Normally, the theatre offers a traditional summer season from June through September, a three-play winter season, “The Met: Live in HD” operas and London’s National Theatre offerings, all with a challenging repertoire ranging from the classics, to the best of contemporary theatre, and big book musicals. The Players produces professional theatre at a level of quality that has gained it a significant national reputation. “American summer repertory theatre at its most accomplished” – Terry Teachout, THE WALL STREET JOURNAL.

“The Barn,” now renovated to a 250 seat theatre, is a cultural and economic cornerstone, drawing audiences from all over the Monadnock region and beyond and fulfilling its historic mission to: “Enrich the human experience by producing quality live professional theatre, developing and training theatre artists, and offering New Hampshire a wide variety of performing arts events.” The Players trains young theatre artists through our Second Company of interns who spend the summer season learning all aspects of the craft, and perform in a show produced especially for young audiences.

As part of our deep belief that the arts should be accessible to ALL, we offer “Players Gives” outreach programs. Players Gives helps broaden accessibility to live theatre by providing reduced-cost tickets to those in the community who might not otherwise be able to attend, while also creating partnerships and lending a helping hand to meaningful organizations who do a lot of good in the community.

The Peterborough Players is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
