GALT's 2023 Luck-of-the-Irish Auction!

Just in time for St. Patty’s Day -- An auction with fun stuff for you and/or your favorite people and pups. Help us celebrate our 28 Irish greys!

GALT’s Irish Grey project is now well underway, and this auction will help defray the expenses for the program. In the last three months, GALT has taken in 28 retired Irish racers via the GPA Irish Greyhounds to America Program. We plan to continue this effort going forward, since the supply of domestic greys has diminished due to the phase-out of most greyhound racing in the U. S. over the past few years.

The Irish hounds have come to GALT already spayed or neutered, but the costs of transport from Ireland and the remaining medical care and boarding expenses are significant, running almost $2,000 per hound. The special adoption fee for an Irish hound is only $1,250. Please help us cover the remaining costs while shopping in our Luck-of-the-Irish auction for some special items for you and/or your friends and family.

In addition to the usual greyhound-themed art, jewelry, accessories and home goods, we have included several gift cards and other “non-dog" items as gift ideas for some of your other friends and family members. Even if you don't need more "stuff" right now, you can still help by making one or more gifts of $25 via Auction Item #20 -- GALT's Irish Grey FAN (Fund-A-Need) Club!

Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, Inc. (GALT) is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation operating in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, throughout Texas, New Mexico and the United States since May 2001. GALT has assisted approximately 3900 greyhounds and other sighthounds in finding their forever homes.

GALT depends solely on donations, fundraisers and net proceeds from its GreytStore.org for its operating budget of more than $657,000 per year for needs of the dogs in its possession.

GALT takes a neutral stand on greyhound racing.
