Fun Fair Silent Auction

The Fun Fair Silent Auction is our largest fundraising event of the year! All of the auction items have been generously donated to us by local businesses.

What is a silent auction?
Traditionally silent auctions are in-person events and bids are placed on sheets of paper. However, this website allows us to facilitate bidding online over a longer period of time to maximize the participation of our school community.

How it works:
As an example, if an auction item is listed as $50 Gift Certificate Towards XYZ Restaurant in our auction, the starting bid will be $20. There is a minimum bid amount for each item. Participants can bid on the item by entering their bid. At the end of the auction the highest bidder will win the item.

New This Year: Extended Bidding!
Did you bid on an item last year and in the final seconds of the auction, someone outbid you? This year, we've added a feature that will help prevent what is called "bid sniping". If a bid is placed on an item in the final 3 minutes of the auction, the end time for that item will automatically be extended by an additional 3 minutes. This process will repeat until either:

1. There are no new bids received during the final 3 minutes.
OR
2. The auction exceeds 30 minutes past the original end time (for our auction that will be 9:30pm on June 2).

When an auction item is extended, you will see Extended Bidding messages displayed throughout the auction, as well as a link to view all of the extended items.

Why does Davisville P.S. need to raise money?
Your Fundraising Committee and School Council work hard year-round to raise money to support and enhance your child(ren)'s educational experience.

The money raised helps pay for supplies and programs that are not funded by the TDSB. These funds are used to support things like:
• Subsidizing field trips
• Increasing and improving the technology our children have access to (e.g. iPads, projectors, computers)
• Providing more specialty classes and in-class seminars for students
• Allowing staff to purchase additional supplies for their classrooms
• Purchasing new books for the classrooms and the library
• New tools for the math program and other extra-curricular activities
• Purchasing new uniforms for our athletics teams

Thank you for supporting our fundraising initiatives and for making Davisville as successful as possible!
