Fauquier Livestock Show and Sale Auction

Please create an account to begin bidding on animals. You will have the option to pay online or be sent an invoice, you can purchase an animal for personal use or sell the animal back at the floor price.

Participating in a 4-H or FFA market animal project is a big commitment, for months (or longer for steers) exhibitors work hard to raise their animals to market standards, keeping them healthy and happy, and getting them ready for the show ring. The Show and Sale is an opportunity for 4-H & FFA participants to learn about raising livestock including feeding, health maintenance, finances, record keeping, showing, and selling.

Participants learn about hard work and responsibility, as well as compassion, communication, & team work, among many other things. These lessons are carried throughout life.

The profits earned through this program are used to fund future projects as well as future education. It is with support from people like you that make this program possible.

We will still be selling a market hog donated by the family of a graduating senior to benefit the Susan P. Rucker Show & Sale Scholarship Fund. Proceeds from this sale benefit the graduating seniors of the Fauquier 4-H Livestock Clubs.

Purchasing an animal is a special act of support for youth, without buyers these projects would not be possible.

Two big changes this year: Many of the animals that are sold back will be butchered and donated to local food pantries thanks to a grant from The PATH Foundation. This is a great opportunity to support local youth and those less fortunate in our community. If you sell back an animal that you purchased, you will receive a credit on your invoice for the following floor prices:

Lambs - $2.50 / lb
Goats - $3.25 / lb
Steers - $1.08 / lb
Hogs - $0.70 / lb

Slaughter houses are incredibly backed up from Covid 19 related issues. Each exhibitor has a slaughter slot for their animal and that will be listed in the item description. If you by chance have your own slot, please let us know. Otherwise, look for that information while you are bidding and also look for correspondence from us after you have won an animal at the end of the sale.

The Show & Sale is a Youth Development project where 4-Her's & FFA members have the opportunity to showcase their livestock projects then sell them to fund future projects and education. Youth Livestock Projects are a vehicle for youth development and offer a variety of life lessons through raising, showing, and selling livestock. In Fauquier, youth are able to raise sheep, goats, hogs, or cattle for their project.
