Sprouts 15th Anniversary Online Auction

We are 15 years young! This year marks the 15th annual Sprouts New Play Festival for Kids. The festival takes place on June 4-5, 2016 with two days of fun theatre and related arts activities for children and their families! All proceeds of this auction will go to support the 2016 Sprouts Festival.

This Festival is the only one of its kind in Canada, providing a gentle and engaging first theatre experience for very young audiences. We are the only professional theatre in Edmonton who welcomes an audience under five years of age and each year see many babes in arms and toddlers attending their first theatre experience! We present three 15-minute plays, some of which go on to become full-length plays that tour to schools. We also have several family-friendly lobby activities before the performance and at intermission.

One of our goals is to make the festival as accessible as possible. This year, we are welcoming Syrian refugee families through a special Canada Council funding opportunity. As such, we will have interpretation in Arabic on the Sunday afternoon. As we do each year, we will also have ASL interpretation of the plays on both days.

One way we keep the festival accessible is to keep ticket prices low. To do this we rely on the generous support of arts supporters in the community. Your support makes a real difference in the lives of children and their families in Edmonton and beyond.

Each year we tour 2-3 plays into schools, reaching audiences from K-12 locally, provincially and nationally. We also produce the annual Sprouts New Play Festival For Kids, a unique festival that presents staged readings of 3 brand new short plays created especially for kids!
