About Canadian Mental Health Association- Champlain East
CMHA - Champlain East offers a range of programs and services designed to enhance the rehabilitation, recovery, and independence of individuals living with mental illness. We offer a wide range of client-based programs, as well as a dedicated mental health promotion department that serves the community of SDG/PR and Akwesasne. CMHA - Champlain East began offering services in Cornwall in 1971 and has since grown to enhance the mental health needs of our community.
Our mental health promotion department is responsible to initiate, coordinate, and facilitate educational activities and campaigns designed to improve attitudes towards mental illness and promote mental health & wellbeing. At CMHA, we focus on providing essential education and prevention programs surrounding mental health. Mental health promotion does not receive Ministry funding to provide education and awareness to schools, workplaces, and the community. Your support plays a critical role in addressing mental health needs. Our awareness initiatives are driven by compassion and commitment aimed at reducing the stigma associated with mental illness and the promotion of recovery.
