About Our Auction
This year, the Maine Osteopathic Education Foundation celebrates the 22nd year of its Silent Auction, the organization's largest annual fundraiser to support the foundation's mission of: Educating Maine students in osteopathic medicine; providing continuing education for existing physicians; and to improve the health of all Maine people through education and research.
The MOEF supports medical students in their efforts to become practicing physicians in our state, and also supports current physicians in Maine in their continuing education. In 2023, the MOEF was able to sponsor NINE Maine students in their pursuit of osteopathic medical education. The Maine Osteopathic Association and the MOEF recognize the demand for more healthcare workers in Maine and our foundation is doing what it can to support those whose hopes are to remain in our state and provide healthcare to the citizens of Maine.
Per our tradition, we have chosen to host the MOEF Silent Auction concurrently with our 2024 Midwinter Symposium. And we have continued to host virtually so those both near and far can participate. Items will also be on display in person during our Symposium Opening Reception at the Hilton Garden Inn, Freeport, ME on Friday, Feb 9th from 5:30-6:30pm.
All bidding will be conducted online and the Auction site will "GO LIVE" Wednesday, February 1st at 8:00AM and will remain open for bidding and donations until Friday, February 9th at 6:30PM. Winners will be announced shortly there afterward. Notifications will be sent directly to bid winners as well.
Thank You to our 2024 Donors and Friends!
About Maine Osteopathic Educational Foundation
The Maine Osteopathic Educational Foundation (MOEF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose primary goals are to:
· Educate Maine students in osteopathic medicine;
· To provide continuing education for existing physicians; and
· To improve the health of all Maine people through education and research.
History of the MOEF and the D.O. Campaign:
The MOEF Fundraising Committee officially launched the “Distinguishing Ourselves: Preserving the Past and Preparing for the Future” fundraising campaign in June of 2013 and began with a gift in memory of Louis Hanson, DO. The original fundraising goal of $250,000 to build an endowment dedicated to the three goals stated above, was reached in the first 3 years of the campaign. Further contributions are needed to protect and promote osteopathic medicine for generations to come.
Each year multiple $1000 scholarships are awarded to deserving medical students from Maine. Donate to support this cause!
