Y2K Trivia Night

Our event is a Year 2000 themed trivia night. It is a hybrid event which includes a live trivia night hosted on March 29, 2023 at the Barley Mow, Merivale, Ottawa, and an online auction hosted on 32Auctions.

By having an online auction and live auction, this will increase our chances of raising funds for The Dave Smith Youth Treatment Center (DSYTC).

The Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre is a local charity that supports youth struggling with substance use in our community and across Ontario. Having been in operation for 25 years, the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre has already supported 17,000 youth and their families. This charity is a non for profit, live in, and community-based agency that supports youth and their families who are impacted by substance use. We are working towards raising funds to build a classroom which will help them achieve their academic goals. Your contribution will directly show the youth that their community supports them and encourages them to continue pursuing a healthy lifestyle.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from our event will go towards the charity, and we would like to invite your business to donate an item or gift certificates which will be featured in our silent auction to help raise funds for the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre. As our partner you will be aligning your business with this wonderful cause as well as promoting your goods and services to present and future customers. In addition, your generous donations will be recognized as donated from your establishment during the event.

Our event is an early 2000’s themed trivia night, which will be hosted on Wednesday 29th March, 2023 at the Barley Mow, Merivale. In support of the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre, our Y2Krew takes you back in time with a fun and memorable night of trivia, music, photo op station and lots of prizes as you dress up in your best Y2K outfits. All for an amazing cause, get ready to channel your inner Britney Spears and enjoy this event with your friends and families.

Our community is at the heart of our event, and thanks to our partners, sponsors and donors, we are able to raise funds for the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre. With our online auction, which will be open two weeks before the event date, as well as our on-site auction, which guests at the event can bid on, 100% of proceeds go towards the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre.

While enjoying a fun trivia game with your team, your favorite hits will be played by our DJ, Mark Layne, from Pulse Entertainment all night long! The Y2Krew has also setup a Y2K surprise makeover with a photo op station to snap some memorable pictures with a Y2K themed backdrop, as well as props, to make it even more fun.

When planning this event, we wanted to target the teenage girls of Y2K. A group of people who went crazy over NSYNC, rocked those phone charms, and set fashion trends that are still being enjoyed today. A huge shoutout to all our friends, families, professors, mentors, sponsors, donors and the millennial generation for supporting this one-time, unique event hosted by the Y2Krew, in collaboration with Algonquin College, School of Hospitality and in support of Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre.
