About Our Auction

The Wheat Ridge Optimist Club was founded in 1957 and has been serving youth and our local communities ever since. This auction is presented in conjunction with the Wheat Ridge Community Foundation a 501(c)(3) organization (#04-3770168)

Some of the programs we sponsor include:

College Scholarships- Each year we fund over $10,000 in scholarships helping 4-5 students from Wheat Ridge High School go to college.

Blue Santa Toy Drive & Holiday Program- reaches out to over 300
kids and 100 families with gifts, clothing & food. In addition, we recognize and support our local first responders and their organizations.

Brain Bowl- a "Jeopardy" like quiz contest for middle schoolers

Junior Optimist Clubs (JOI)- 4th and 5th graders working together to help their communities

Wheat Ridge High School STEM Program of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Ronald McDonald House-we bring reading books for the residents, prepare great feasts & serve meals with great joy for all.

Arvada Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth (AWRSAY)- A scholarship program that helps students go to Red Rocks Community College giving $4,000 scholarships to 16-20 students.

Autism Rescue Kits (NOAH’S ARK) – Autism Rescue Kits were the brainchild of a WROC member who understood a need in the community for first responders and caregivers to be able to assist children on the autism spectrum. The kits are designed to calm someone experiencing stress/anxiety related to a traumatic incident.

Farmer's 5000- we are a proud sponsor of this annual 5K race that supports programs at Wheat Ridge High School

By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in Youth, our communities, and ourselves.

Please help us reach our goal of $12,000.
