All proceeds from the auction go towards funding the Professor Hopkins Pro Humanitate Summer Grants awarded to qualified students undertaking an unpaid public interest internship.
In the past, PILO has funded students who have worked at immigration offices, Legal Aid, district attorneys’ offices, public defenders, and more!
PILO cannot make these grants available without your help!
About WFU Public Interest Law Organization
The Public Interest Law Organization promotes Wake Forest’s tradition of training lawyers who serve not only their clients, but also their communities. PILO holds an event in the fall, in conjunction with Career and Professional Development, that serves to increase students’ awareness of the various paths available in public interest law. Each year PILO brings in exciting and successful attorney speakers that work in different areas of public interest, ranging from criminal law to education to civil rights. In addition, throughout the year we have multiple events that help us raise money for student grants that are awarded to dedicated students who spend their summer working at unpaid public interest internships.
