An Evening of Making a Difference

VARHA’s 19th annual benefit auction, An Evening of Making a Difference is a virtual event will conclude on Saturday, October 24, 2020 and is our largest and most important fundraiser of the year. Being able to maintain our current level of service to children and adults with disabilities highly depends on the success of all of our fundraisers, but this year’s auction income is more critical than ever. Over the past couple years we have experienced a decline in income from donations and fundraisers, but our operational expenses are steadily rising. Historically, our fees cover only about 10 percent of our operating income and we have more demand than ever for our services. This is why we need YOUR help!

VARHA, the Venango Area Riding for the Handicapped Association, was founded in March of 1980. VARHA has been providing therapeutic horseback riding for children, adolescents, and adults with special needs ever since.
The program offerings were expanded over the last several years to include therapeutic riding programs for families in drug & alcohol and mental health treatment, 'at risk' youth, and young riders (ages 3-7) with documented special needs. VARHA also offers a 'Horses for Healing' program to assist military veterans and other adults who have experienced some sort of life-changing trauma.
