About Our Auction
The UNC Brushes with Life Arts program and UNC PAWS (Peer Assisted Wellness Services) recovery and rehabilitation programs at the UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health will collaborate to sponsor a Dog Parade fundraising event.
Brushes with Life artists will paint individual
uniquely painted fiberglass dog sculptures which will be displayed around the UNC hospital campus, Farm at Penny Lane, the Center’s fundraising gala November 12th and the local community at large.
This vibrant and colorful event will celebrate the talent of our mental health community. Local artists will mentor Brushes with Life artists to complete the project.

At the UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health, we work with individuals with serious mental illness and their families to provide evidence-based treatment and support meaningful and productive lives.
We focus on early identification and prevention, sustained recovery, and proven clinical treatment. Care is provided by multidisciplinary teams, including UNC psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, rehabilitation counselors, nurses and other mental health professionals. We emphasize the integration of psychiatric and medical care.
We also provide multidisciplinary training for the next generation of mental health professionals, as well as training and technical assistance for providers throughout North Carolina.

We see a world in which all North Carolinians with serious mental illness will experience meaningful recovery and be fully integrated into the community.
Mission
The mission of the UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health is to better the lives of persons with mental illness in North Carolina. We will achieve this goal by developing, delivering, and disseminating a holistic, integrated, and financially sustainable model for community-based treatment, early identification, prevention and early intervention, rehabilitation, and recovery of those suffering from serious mental illness.
