Caring for Our Wildlife Auction 2023

Update: April 22 at 12:32 p.m. On behalf of the wild ones, THANK YOU ALL!! We greatly appreciate your support! If you'd still like to contribute and have your donation matched, please click the "Donate" button at the top of the page. Special thanks to our presenting sponsor, The Sudbury Regional Cat Hospital and to our matching donor, Northern Legacy Horse Farm.

WELCOME to our auction site! Please bid often, and bid generously, if you can. All proceeds will support animal care. This year, every donation and every bid will have twice the impact thanks to the generosity of Northern Legacy Horse Farm! They have pledged to match the final dollar amount that our auction raises! The auction closes at noon on Sat, April 22nd.

BIDDING: Anyone can browse the auction but you must create an account with your name and e-mail address to bid.

PROXY BIDS (optional): This auction site will bid on your behalf if you enter in the maximum amount you are willing to pay as a proxy bid. Should you be outbid, it will automatically place a bid (in the amount of the noted bid increment) on your behalf up to the maximum amount, and alert you by email if you're outbid. Bidding is fast and furious in the final minutes of the auction. A proxy bid is your best bet at being the successful bidder. New this year - bidders can opt in for text notifications if they've been outbid!

EXTENDED BIDDING: If a bid is received during the last 30 seconds of the auction, the bidding for that item will be automatically extended for 3 minutes and then close. This gives other bidders a fair chance.

PAYMENTS: If you're a successful bidder, you will receive an automated invoice by email for the item(s) you won containing a Paypal link to where you can either pay with your PayPal account or a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, AmericanExpress). You do not require a PayPal account to pay by credit card. (Shipping is available at the bidder's expense unless otherwise noted.) Currency: CAD.

THANK YOU! We are grateful to everyone who donates an item to the auction, bids, shares the link, donates, or posts a poster. You will see a "Donated by" section for each item. Please visit our donors' websites and think of them when you are considering purchases. Special thanks to Northern Legacy Horse Farm and our presenting sponsor, the Sudbury Regional Cat Hospital. A list of auction donors is on our website: http://turtlepondwc.com/donors

MONETARY DONATIONS: Between April 15 and 22, monetary donations made via the auction site will be MATCHED by Northern Legacy Horse Farm! Look for the small black "Donate" button in the top-right corner of the screen.

QUESTIONS: Please use the handy link to email any questions. Please do not contact the centre, as they are busy caring for animals .

About Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre

Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre is a licensed wildlife rehabilitation centre located in Val Caron, Ontario (Greater Sudbury). It was founded in 2017 by Gloria Morissette, and is a registered charity. All species of wildlife are accommodated whenever possible, and transport is arranged to other wildlife rehabilitation facilities in Ontario if it is in the best interest of the patient.

Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre has taken in animals from as far away as Kenora, Timmins, North Bay, and Manitoulin Island. In 2022, the Centre cared for 800 wild animals – each with its own special dietary, housing, and treatment needs. The costs add up – reaching $80,000 last year.

In recent years, Canada's wildlife has seen so many challenges - from climate change, habitat loss, and pollution - that wildlife rehabilitation grows increasingly important. Those who come across orphaned, injured, or ill wild animals find it to be an immense relief to bring animals to us, knowing that we will do all that we can to help them recover and live their wild lives again. Together, we can give our wildlife a second chance at a wild life. On behalf of the wild ones, thank you!
