The Survivor Strut fashion show benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is the brainchild of Dianne Callahan, 3-time non Hodgkin lymphoma survivor. She launched the event in 2008 after achieving remission from her first fight with blood cancer.

“The idea behind the Survivor Strut was to create an event that raised funds and spirits,” Dianne said. “Going through cancer is so hard on you physically and emotionally. I wanted this event to be about celebrating our survival and delighting in the life that we still get to live.”

The first year, the event featured ten female models. Riverside’s beloved Mary Parks was the celebrity Mistress of Ceremonies and the event raised about $3500. The now annual event has grown to include more than 20 models – men, women and children – and is on track to raise up to $50,000 for vital cancer research.

The Survivor Strut Fashion Show benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and its mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer.
