Spearhead Huts Apres Celebration: Silent Auction

This online auction is the lead up for a silent auction at our Spearhead Huts Après Celebration fundraising event on Sunday November 26th at the Brewhouse in Whistler. You can bid online, or at the event, or both!

Your support is helping to create the first ever hut-to-hut experience on the West Coast!

The Spearhead Huts Society is building 3 year-round backcountry huts connecting the Spearhead and Fitzsimmons ranges between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains.

The Spearhead Hut System will greatly assist public recreation access to this wonderful alpine region (Spearhead Traverse). The hut system will reduce environmental impacts to the surrounding areas and provide a warm, safe and self-sufficient place for backcountry users to stay while exploring everything the region has to offer.

The Spearhead Huts Project is an interlinked system of huts that will nurture a generation of stewards of wild spaces and self-propelled adventurers.

With the scenic values of the Coast Mountains and ease of alpine access from Whistler Blackcomb resort, the huts will turn the Spearhead Traverse, a 40km link-up through the Spearhead and Fitzsimmons Ranges, into the greatest hut to hut traverse in North America.

The Spearhead Huts Society is comprised of several different interest groups and clubs all sharing a common goal – to create a world-class backcountry hut system in Garibaldi Provincial Park. The shared objectives of the hut system itself are to increase the comfort and safety of backcountry travelers, minimize environmental impact on the area, leave a lasting legacy for passionate local skiers who have lost their lives in the mountains, and enable other backcountry enthusiasts to experience this outstanding region.

Join the Spearhead Huts team, M.C. Mike Douglas, and a cast of local ski icons on Whistler Blackcomb’s official opening weekend for bevvies and bites, and help support the completion of the first hut in Spearhead’s hut-to-hut system. Celebrate this summer’s groundbreaking and progress on the Kees & Claire Hut, get the latest project updates and plans, and rally participation and donations for the exciting next construction phase in summer 2018.

The silent auction will also come to a close at the live event. If you make proxy bids online, we will apply them to the bid sheets at the live event on your behalf.

Doors: 3:30 PM. Bevvies & Bites available.
Program: 4:00 - 6:00 PM
Tickets: $75 for event entry, 2 drinks, delicious tapas, an amazing evening, and some gifts from our sponsors. Support the project and have a blast. A portion of the ticket price may be eligible for a tax receipt.
