Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association (Pure Waters) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1990, dedicated to the mission of preserving, protecting, and promoting the water quality of Seneca Lake.

A clean, healthy Seneca Lake is essential to our region’s quality of life. It supports local jobs, property values, and tourism, while also serving as a vital source of drinking water and recreation for thousands. But with growing environmental pressures, our work is more critical than ever.

Your support directly funds impactful, science-based programs that safeguard the lake's health. A few key initiatives include:

• Stabilizing streambanks and building settling ponds to reduce sediment and nutrient runoff.
• Collaborating with agricultural partners to implement best management practices like cover cropping.
• Regularly testing stream and lake waters for nutrients, pollutants, and other indicators of water quality.
• Monitoring harmful algal blooms (HABs) and issuing timely alerts to keep the public informed and safe.
• Providing education through Lake Friendly Living resources, events, and community outreach.
