We need your help to raise funds for a Sensory Therapy Toolkit for our residents during COVID-19 visitor restrictions and beyond.

Snoezelen (sensory) therapy is widely used for residents with moderate to late stage dementia, but all of us can agree...serene, calm activities are what the world needs now due to COVID-19!

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF SENSORY THERAPY?
The techniques are simple...and the results for residents are amazing. Residents that are withdrawn, depressed or sometimes non-verbal respond very well to these stimuli and often experience more active moments.

What's even better is that you don't have to have dementia to enjoy the sensory therapy toolkit items. Imagine yourself in a spa...the low lighting, aromatic smells, soft music or waterfall sounds, the nature pictures, night sky 'lights' or bubble wall, the warm heaviness of the blanket...doesn't that just make you feel transported from your stress? Sensory therapy for seniors uses a similar idea for residents.

Our goal is to create engaging opportunities for all the senses to enrich the lives of our residents, so we are raising funds for water features (including a bubble tube), fiber optic lights (no touching due to COVID best practices at this time), a laser star projector, a nature sound machine, an aromatherapy fan and a variety of tactile activities.
