About Our Auction

Our goal of $5,000 will partly replace gift shop and other donations the PPHS receives when the museum is open in the summer. In a "normal" year, when the museum is open, we usually receive about $7,200 on average from visitor donations.
The money is used to keep the museum operating and most of those costs are incurred whether we are open or closed. Although we recently paid off the mortgage, we'd like to improve exhibits and need to continue to maintain our building.

About Pikes Peak Historical Society

The Pikes Peak Historical Society is a non-profit corporation organized under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3). The purpose of the Society is to encourage the preservation of the history of Florissant, Colorado and the west slope of Pikes Peak, and to educate the public regarding this historical legacy. The PPHS is funded solely through memberships and donations, and supports its mission through volunteers who serve on its numerous committees.
PPHS owns and operates two museums; the PPHS Museum and the Schoolhouse Museum. PPHS volunteers serve on various committees to support the local area including:
A Cemetery Committee that manages the historic Florissant Pioneer Cemetery on behalf of Teller County.
A Beautification Committee that sponsors area-wide clean up each spring and plants flowers throughout the town of Florissant.
A Chautauqua Committee that sponsors free educational programs several times a year.
