Poketto's Chairs for Charity

After winning the 2016 Archifest Collaborative Design Challenge, Team Poketto (Space Matrix, Humanscale, DBS, Space Logic and the students of Temasek Polytechnic) would like to auction off their generous prize donated by Stylecraft to help raise money for WWF in Singapore. ABOUT THE CHARITY
We wanted to pick a charity that would give back to our environment, aligning with the theme of the challenge which was to recycle.

We would like to help replenish our forests with trees and support WWF in their effort to build new forests in Singapore and Indonesia.

If you choose not to bid on one our chairs, you can still help us build our forest. If you give $33 or more, you get to name your own tree and WWF will send you a picture of the tree, and our interactive map will show you where our forest will grow.

For every $500 we raise, WWF will plant one tree in Singapore and 15 trees in Indonesia.

Sumatra, home to tigers, elephants, rhinos and orang-utans has lost 55% of its natural forest cover. During parts of September and October 2015, the average daily emissions from the forest fires in Indonesia were higher than US emissions – an economy ten times the size of Indonesia. In a short period of 6 weeks, Indonesia was catapulted to the fourth-largest greenhouse gas emitter in the world.
