About Our Auction

Welcome to the Scholarship Virtual Silent Auction of the Northern Virginia (NoVA) Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc (NCNW). The proceeds from this fundraising initiative will be used to provide scholarships to local area students, but will also be used to promote other educational initiatives, health, economic empowerment, and legislative and cultural efforts.

Virtual Silent Auction Guidelines

Auction items will be on display Wednesday, June 24th beginning at 12:00 noon through Saturday, June 27th ending at 4:00 p.m. Bidders must be at least 18 years old. By bidding in the NoVA Section, NCNW, Inc.’s Silent Auction, each bidder agrees to the following auction rules:

1) All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. All items are “as is.” NoVA Section, NCNW, Inc. has attempted to describe and catalog items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance, or condition of the items. No statement made in this program, or made orally or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.

2) Only bid in increments specified on the site.

3) Items purchased must be paid in full after the auction closes. All purchases are made via PayPal (3% service fee applies).

4) Trip winners will be given contact information of donor or logistics after payment is made.

5) Following payment, you may pick up your purchase or we can deliver your purchase. If you live more than a 20-mile radius, we can ship the purchase for an additional fee (except items containing alcohol).

6) The purchaser will have one week after the auction closes to pick up all items that were purchased unless special arrangements are made. Any item left unclaimed, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to NoVA NCNW.

7) Unless otherwise specified, all auction gift certificates will be mailed and must be used within the time specified on the certificate.

8) Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from NoVA NCNW, their elected and appointed officials, members and employees, event organizers, sponsors, venue staff, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.
