Desks for Kids of Kathmandu

For our inaugural project, Kids of Kathmandu is focusing on furniture design. We reached out to established New York architects, designers, artists and woodworkers to design and fabricate a child’s desk to be auctioned off with the proceeds going to pay for the children’s education in Nepal. In response, we received 11 unique and special desks. We love the one to one relationship of unique school desks designed, built, and sold here to support education in Nepal.

Our future projects will include lighting design to raise money for solar panels and batteries in Nepali orphanages, fashion design to contribute towards school uniforms and clothes for the orphans.

Collaboration between the notable artist community in New York and in the United States and translating that into resources for the children in Nepal, is what Kids of Kathmandu is all about.

Kids of Kathmandu is a non-profit organization that utilizes photography and the arts to raise awareness about the needs of orphans in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Our goal is to raise funds in order to provide a stable financial foundation for the children from which they can grow through funding for education, food, shelter, and immunizations.

With these very basic needs covered, our aim is to provide a sense of safety and encouragement for the children so that they can fully realize their potential in the rapidly changing environment of Nepal.
