HLC Fundraiser

The HLC fundraiser is used to provide funds for ongoing projects - inclusive of preserving Canada's herd of Lacombe and Yellow Hungarian. During 2021 the funds will also allow us to assist with the reformation of the Canadian Red Poll Association and complete a poultry census.

Your assistance also provides for the storage of HLC's genetic bank. We maintain semen inventories of cattle and horse semen. Both of which contain valuable, irreplaceable genetics. Which are essential to maintain biodiversity within endangered livestock breeds.

Heritage Livestock Canada is a federally registered, volunteer run charity devoted to the preservation and growth of species and breeds of livestock that were integral to the farming history of Canada. The charity is entirely dependant upon donations and memberships.

Heritage livestock are considered to be a genetic resource of bio diversity, offering outcross genetics and traits that have been lost in some breeds. Their cultural significance cannot be overlooked.
