About Housatonic Council, Boy Scouts of A
The Housatonic Council serves the five communities of the Lower Naugatuck Valley with Scouting programs in the Cities of Derby, Shelton, and Ansonia, and in the Towns of Oxford, and Seymour.
The Boy Scouts of America's current programs include all Cub Scout aged youth (5 – 10 ½), Scouts BSA (youth 10 ½ - 18), Venturing (youth 14 – 21), and Exploring (14 – 21). The Housatonic Council continues to achieve 8% of all Scouts BSA receiving the rank of Eagle Scout Award versus the national average of 4%.
