Support Global Roots Play School

Help us raise critical funds to support children and families to be part of the Global Roots Play School community. Our school provides an enriching and supportive space for young ones of diverse backgrounds to learn and explore at an accessible, low-cost. Affordable childcare gives parents, especially mothers, the empowering choice to attend English as a Second languages classes or work to support family needs. Through this auction, help us raise critical scholarship funds to support low income families who would not otherwise access childcare.

Since we launched in September 2017 we've served 32 children ages 18 months to 5 years old and families from 19 countries of origin including Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Karen community from Burma, China, Ecuador, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Romania, and beyond!

Ithaca Welcomes Refugees is a volunteer led community initiative that fosters a welcoming and fair environment for refugees and immigrants in our region. Our hope is that these efforts will continue the development of the Ithaca area as a welcoming host community in times of great global need.
