About Our Auction

75% of the funds raised remain in Muskoka to directly impact local moms through free/low-cost mental health support. The remaining 25% contributes toward the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative's ongoing national advocacy for timely access to perinatal mental healthcare through appropriate policies and legislation.

About Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative

The Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative (CPMHC) was launched in the fall of 2019. The CPMHC was founded and heralded by two “Barrie moms on a mission” – Patricia Tomasi and Jaime Charlebois.

Both Patricia and Jaime suffered from perinatal mental illness and vowed to make a difference so that future moms, dads, partners, birthing persons and families wouldn’t have to suffer again.

In attempting to navigate the health care system for help, Patricia and Jaime discovered that Canada lacked a perinatal mental health strategy and so the two combined efforts to advocate for Canada’s first strategy.

The CPMHC became an official non profit organization in May 2021 and its first ever Board of Directors were put in place in early 2022. The CPMHC also received its first grant from the Daymark Foundation in August 2021, a capacity grant to help the organization with developing a governance, strategic, and sustainability plan.

During the first week of May, World Maternal Mental Health Week, Flora’s Walks take place in various communities and cities across Canada.

The CPMHC’s Flora’s Walk for Perinatal Mental Health is the largest Canadian fundraiser for perinatal mental health programs and services.

75% of the money you raise will go towards supporting a local Muskoka perinatal mental health program. The remaining 25% will go towards supporting CPMHC’s advocacy efforts across Canada.
