POTLUCK

During adverse times we look to art to connect us–it offers us a place to share our thoughts, and to process the world around us. Craft Contemporary upholds these ambitions and with your support will continue to provide engaging and thoughtful programing for our communities. We are entirely funded by donors like you.

We invite you to be a part of POTLUCK, an online fundraiser and celebration of our clay community by purchasing a generously donated original ceramic object. POTLUCK will be a two-week engagement from October 19 to October 31, 2020 which will include virtual clay workshops, online artist conversations, virtual studio tours, and other online programming featuring artists that have been part of clay and ceramic exhibitions, educational programming, and marketplaces.

Every cent raised will go to maintaining the operations of Craft Contemporary, including artist led K-12 school programs, community craft forums, workshops, and exhibition and discussion-based programing. With your support we will continue our mission to reveal the potential of craft to educate, captivate, provoke, and empower. We will continue our work to present emerging and established artists who take craft into new and surprising directions; champion and prioritize the representation of work by culturally diverse and underrepresented communities, and maintain our commitment to black, indigenous, and communities of color, to women artists, and the LGBTQ+ community. With your support we will continue fostering collaboration between artists and the public; engage audiences with accessible programming and hands-on experiences; and utilize our spaces to provide our best opportunity to experience art.

About Craft Contemporary

Craft Contemporary is a non-collecting museum for contemporary art made from craft materials and processes. Our mission is to reveal the potential of craft to educate, captivate, provoke, and empower. In addition to presenting six exhibitions annually, the museum offers 90+ art-making workshops and public programs each year. We present work by emerging and established artists who take traditional craft techniques in new and surprising directions; prioritize the presentation of work by culturally diverse and underrecognized artists, foster collaboration between artists and the public; engage audiences with hands-on experiences, and utilize our public spaces to provide the greatest opportunity for the experience of art.
