About Canine Partners for Life

Since 1989, Canine Partners for Life (CPL) has been dedicated to training service dogs, home companion dogs, residential companion dogs and courthouse companion dogs to assist individuals who have a wide range of physical, developmental, and cognitive disabilities or who are in other situations of need.

Each CPL dog goes through a two-year, comprehensive, and customized training program to meet the specific needs of its human partner. CPL graduates have disabilities that cause mobility challenges and balance disorders. They may utilize a wheelchair or have difficulty using their hands and/or arms. CPL also serves many individuals who have seizure disorders, cardiac syncope conditions, narcolepsy and Diabetes. CPL service dogs give individuals the ability to get dressed without needing assistance, to go grocery shopping on their own, sleep by themselves throughout the night, and even attend college and start a career! Every day, year after year, CPL dogs make the miracle of independence possible for their human partners.
