'Capes for Nate' Silent Auction

* This auction is a charity fundraiser for the Pediatric Ward at Wagga Base Hospital created by Kym Kjaer - Contestant in the 2023 Thomas Bros Wagga Takes Two*

On the 22nd May 2022, 11 year old Nate Desmond Lawson lost his battle with a rare genetic disorder. He was the first child diagnosed in Australia with this terminal condition.
His parents, Kelly Lawson (School Teacher at Wagga Wagga High School) and Gary Lawson (Police Officer at Wagga Wagga) are well loved community members and have spent a lot of time giving back to the community over the years in various forms.
‘Nate the Great’ has had an impact on so many of us, his cheeky disposition, enthusiasm for everything and enormous smile will be forever remembered and loved!
To honour Nate's memory, on February, 11th, 2023, we are hosting a charity dinner at the Rules Club in Wagga and a silent auction. All money raised from the dinner and the silent auction will go to the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital Children's Ward, due to the care they provided Nate during his illness. We are hoping to raise enough money to buy some much needed equipment that will improve the lives and health outcomes of other regional kids who will utilise the Paediatric Ward in the future.
