Thank you for supporting Lauren's Silver's "Woman of the Year" campaign and team "Breaking Barriers." All proceeds from this auction will benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, helping to advance research for cancer cures and fund patient services and financial support.

It’s every 5-year old’s dream to hear the five “magical” words, “We’re going to Disney World, and every parent’s worst nightmare, to hear four more: “Your child has Leukemia.” Lauren and her family received both sets of news in 1985 when she was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). And though Lauren is one of the incredibly lucky members of the first surviving generation of childhood leukemia, she is left with many “souvenirs” from treatments and the realization that protocols have largely remained unchanged in the decades since she received care. As a candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Man & Woman of the Year," Lauren's goal is to raise awareness and critical funds needed to "Break Barriers" to safer, more effective pediatric cancer therapies, so that children not only survive, but thrive in their adult lives long after treatments.
