About Our Auction

All money raised from winning bids will go to the Patrick Behan Support Trust to provide financial support for Pat's care. To learn more about Pat and the financial burden of ALS, visit BehanStrong.com and read his cover story in The Washington Post, “I’m Still Your Coach,” by Adam Kilgore.

About Behan Strong

Patrick Behan (Pat) is a former college basketball player whose life’s work is coaching high school boys basketball in the DMV. He is currently serving as the head boy’s basketball coach at St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C.

In May of 2022, at the age of 34, Pat was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. While this has been a devastating diagnosis for everyone involved, Pat and those around him - his family and his close friends - have chosen to fight this disease head-on and formed Behan Strong.

All donations raised through Behan Strong go to the Patrick Behan Support Trust to provide financial support for Pat's care. At this stage in the disease, Pat's yearly costs are upwards of $500,000. In addition to specialized medication and equipment, Pat now requires two 24/7 caregivers who are not covered by insurance.
