A gifted artist and multi-sport athlete, Desmond Mason played basketball for Oklahoma State University, where he majored in studio art and was able to expand his knowledge of art history and further develop his technical skills in painting and drawing. Under legendary OSU coach Eddie Sutton, Desmond received national recognition for both his basketball and artistic ability, was featured in Sports Illustrated and collected All-Conference and national honors with his team.

After a successful 10-year career as a professional basketball player in the NBA, Desmond focused on his passion for creating art.

Desmond has held solo exhibitions along with selling hundreds of original pieces to collectors all over the world and sees his career in art as an opportunity for philanthropy. Founded by the artist in 2004, the annual Desmond Mason Art Exhibition sells his art to benefit a variety of causes and charities. Desmond’s beneficiaries include Boys and Girls Club, Susan G.
