The Songbird Soirée--online!

The Alaska Songbird Institute's 2020 virtual Songbird Soirée supports our bird research, conservation, and science education programs at Creamer's Field in Fairbanks, Alaska. These include our bird banding station (starting it's 29th year of monitoring migration!), our Tree Swallow nest box study, K-12 field trips for 2,000+ local kids and teachers, new virtual learning programs, our youth mentoring and high school internship programs, our community volunteer and apprenticeship programs, and SO MUCH MORE!

The Alaska Songbird Institute's mission is to conserve Alaska’s boreal birds through ecological research and education. We are based at Creamer's Field, the beloved, bird-filled backyard of the Fairbanks community! There, our long-term bird research and conservation projects connect local scientists, schools, community members and travelers. Together we have gathered almost 30 years of data on Alaska’s migratory birds, and helped an entire generation of people from all walks of life build connections to Alaska’s wild birds and their habitats.
