About Our Auction

Dear Access Friend,
Access Esperanza Clinics is pleased to announce our 56th Annual Access to Hope Virtual Gala to take place online Friday, October 16, 2020, at 7 pm. The Access to Hope Gala is a celebration of the preventive healthcare services we offer to individuals of low-income communities.

Due to Covid-19, our spring fundraiser was canceled, making Access to Hope Gala the only and major fundraiser for Access Esperanza Clinics in 2020.
Access Esperanza Clinics is a non-profit 501(c)(3) family planning agency. We were founded in 1964 by the Reverend Bruce Galloway and members of the First United Methodist Church in Mission, Texas. Their goal was to help people break the cycle of poverty and improve our community's quality of life. Today, we continue that legacy with our five health centers located in McAllen, Mission, Edinburg, and Weslaco. In 2019, we provided family planning care to nearly 17,000 patients.

Access Esperanza Clinics provides high quality and affordable preventative healthcare services. Proceeds from the Access to Hope Gala will help individuals needing wellness exams, screenings for breast and cervical cancers, STI testing/treatment, and family planning care.

About Access Esperanza Clinics Inc.

The mission of Access Esperanza Clinics is to provide education, advocacy, and affordable, high-quality health care services, so all can access preventive, sexual, and reproductive health care without judgment. Our vision is to see all people in our community empowered to plan their futures with access to preventive and sexual health care.

Members of the First United Methodist Church founded our agency in 1964. Their purpose was to provide health care for people with limited incomes and to help women plan and space pregnancies.

Access Esperanza Clinics provides family planning and preventive health care services to about 17,000 patients year at our five clinics throughout Hidalgo County. An additional 15,000 people are reached through educating the community about healthy relationships, family life planning, and clinic services. The majority of our patients have low-incomes, and most report Access Esperanza Clinics as their only health care provider.

Our services provide opportunities and hope for brighter, healthier futures. Women who are able to prevent unplanned pregnancies have safer birth, are healthier, have healthier children, stay in school long, and earn more. When pregnancies are planned, the risk of family violence is less, and dads are more likely to be involved in the children’s lives.

Prevention works! Every $1 invested in public family planning programs like those at Access Esperanza Clinics saves taxpayers over $7 in Medicaid prenatal and birth costs.

Access Esperanza Clinics Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Funding for patients services comes from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and the federal Title X family planning program. Private foundations and donations also fund patient services and educational programs.
