About Our Auction

Hang a piece of Welsh history in your home while supporting the Wert family in missions!

Long-time friend of the Wert family and artist Brenda J. Blank (Facebook: @BJBlankArt or Instagram: bjblankart or Website: www.BJBlankArt.com) has generously donated an original watercolour painting of Holy Cross Church, Mwnt, for a silent auction at the Wales Vision Banquet on August 20th!

The white-washed church holds a special place for the Werts, who have visited there on several occasions. The church sits at the bottom of a conical hill they like to climb to view the surrounding cove, sandy beach, and rolling farmlands of the Ceredigion coast in west Wales. The current structure was built in the 14th century and provides a peaceful place for visitors to sit and reflect (or in the case of Cerys, to play tunes on the ancient pump organ!). The name Holy Cross is most likely a reference to a stone cross that once stood on the nearby hill to guide spiritual seekers on the journey to nearby St Davids or other locations. As Brenda prepared to paint, she sensed a prophetic stirring of it being a place where the cross is celebrated and people come to worship on their journey. This is the Wert's desire for Cardiff.

Specs: Painting is 21.5” x 9.5” watercolour. Framed painting is approx. 27” x 15”.
