Shooting Stars is an initiative of Netball WA and Glass Jar Australia, which uses netball and other tools as the vehicles to drive greater engagement and attendance at school of young Aboriginal girls living in WA’s remote communities and regional towns.

Shooting Stars works collaboratively with the local community, schools and service providers to affect genuine change in the lives of more than 350 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls.

Importantly, the Program produces results. More than 30% of participants have improved their attendance term on term, with 60% of participants maintaining an average attendance rate of 80% or above. Furthermore, Shooting Stars is a key driver in creating equality for female leaders and generational change, with 75% of staff and 50% of its Board identifying as Indigenous.

The program enjoys the backing of Netball WA, which brings almost 100 years of experience in of professional expertise in community programs and development. The program is proudly supported by the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, in addition to numerous other organisations.
