Vamos Outdoors Project Spring Fundraiser

Thanks for supporting Vamos Outdoors Project! Funds raised from bids and donations support our mission of building community through access to environmental education. Vamos provides opportunities for Latinx and English Language Learner youth to participate in backpacking, swimming, climbing, mountain biking, and after school explorer programs. We also work with local program providers, helping them become more accessible and equitable in their offerings. Supporting Vamos is supporting a more equitable and diverse outdoors community!

Vamos Outdoors Project is a local nonprofit serving youth and families in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. Vamos’ mission is “Building Community Through Connection to the Land and Access to the Outdoors.” Vamos serves Latine, Migrant, Multilingual and Newcomer youth and families. Vamos supports community building by providing meaningful experiences to youth through outdoor, recreational, and educational activities and mentorship. All Vamos programs are free to participants, and include food, transportation, and all necessary equipment. Vamos provides programs in the following activities: backpacking, swim lessons, mountain biking, indoor and outdoor rock climbing, boating and water safety, after school bilingual Fiesta de Libros (Book Party) program, snowboarding, summer migrant program, community celebrations, and nature-based park programming. Vamos’ programs provide trauma-informed care and socio-emotional learning, supporting youth development. Vamos partners with 6 school districts and over 20 program partners across two counties to collaboratively bring resources to the communities Vamos serves and make programs possible.
