About Our Auction
We are raising funds to directly support our young musicians. Recognizing the barriers that many families in our area face, the VYOA provides a robust financial aid program to support young musicians: this season we have already awarded over $50,000 in need-based scholarships. Our goal is to raise $12,000 with this auction to support these initiatives, helping to ensure that all students have access to our orchestras, training ensembles, lesson program, and summer camp, regardless of their financial situation.

About Vermont Youth Orchestra Association
Now celebrating our 60th season, the VYOA is a leader in shaping our region’s young musicians. Nearly 300 musicians in grades 1 – 12 represent 66 elementary, middle, and high schools, and hail from 39 towns from across Vermont and neighboring states. In addition to two symphony orchestras, one string orchestra, jazz program, and training programs for middle school musicians, the VYOA provides instrumental instruction through its Lesson Program and afterschool program, Music Inspires. Our Rug Concert series and Music Together classes provide an opportunity for families with very young children to foster their love of music together.
All programs are based at the Elley-Long Music Center at St. Michael’s College. The Elley-Long Music Center is the former Cavalry Riding or Drill Hall located at Fort Ethan Allen and was renovated by the VYOA between 1999 and 2001. This beautiful building is the home of the VYOA and the primary rehearsal and concert venue for many performing arts organizations.
