Building Hope Through Animal Health

Offering a range of exciting items to help VWB/VSF in its mission to improve the lives of smallholder farmers in Africa and Asia, and to bring consistent veterinary care to isolated communities in Canada's North.

Veterinarians without Borders/Vétérinaires sans Frontières (VWB/VSF) is unique among Canadian International Development Organizations through its focus on reducing poverty and hunger and improving the health of people by addressing the health and welfare of animals.

VWB/VSF was created by veterinarians and continues to engage veterinarians in its work, but it also draws on the skills and expertise of people from other professions, including other animal health professionals as well as rural development experts and gender specialists.

VWB/VSF’s international development work is built on the philosophy of ecohealth -- the conviction that the health of animals, humans, and ecosystems are inter-related. By improving the health of animals, VWB/VSF is consciously working to improve the health and livelihoods of people, and is vigilant to ensure that the effects of its activities either improve the environment or, at a minimum, do no harm.
