Trash Makeover Challenge 2020

Our silent and live auctions are two of the most popular treats of the Trash Makeover Challenge. Individuals and businesses donate wonderful wares and experiences such as weekend getaways for you to bid on and win. The silent, online auction opens for bidding on Friday, August 21, at high noon. It will close immediately after our live event, on Saturday, August 29, at midnight.

You can bid or select the Buy Now price to make sure your selection is locked in. The few items that will be auctioned during the live auction segment of our Trash Makeover Challenge event, August 29 at roughly 8:20pm, will end online bidding the day of the event. Top bidders will be notified and will start at the top of the live auction bidding.

All funds raised by these auctions will support the good work of Texas Campaign for the Environment for clean air, water, and land! Thank you very much for your support!

Trash Makeover Challenge is a high profile contest for fashion designers, stylists, and models to create original high fashion looks out of recycled and recovered materials. This year celebrates Texas Campaign for the Environment’s 29th anniversary and the event’s 10th year.

In the past it has drawn fashion visionaries and tastemakers, local celebrities, elected officials, top environmental activists, business leaders, and other prominent figures, mainly from Austin. As an online event in 2020, Trash Makeover Challenge is now open for the world to watch.

Enjoy a unique fashion show that challenges designers to make clothing out of repurposed materials, participate in deciding the People's Choice awards, and learn more about our work to fight pollution in Texas. Actor Mehcad Brooks will be our emcee!
