About Our Auction

We are continuing to move forward on the dream of a kennel where we can house many dogs. One building at a time. As we are not government funded this is done by donations, auctions, and other fundraising events. There are fewer foster homes and dogs on waiting lists to come in. We still have medical bills for the dogs care and running the day to day operations. Things like liability insurance on the property, volunteers and board members, office supplies, the costs to run the 800 phone line , cost for the website, State license and registration fees for the organization. Your participation in the auction helps us keep Going. This year we spend over $3,500 to clear a contagious ear infection in a wonderful Pyr named Buck. Gloves and masks for the vets and volunteers. It took 4 liquid antibiotics mixed together to beat this nasty infection. The photo is Buck getting the affection he so dearly wanted while he was ill. It was so painful we had to soft muzzle him to treat and examine it but he held no ill will when we took the muzzle off. He must have known we were trying to help him.

About Northeast Pyr Rescue Inc.

100% volunteer Non-profit dog rescue. Specializing in the Great Pyrenees breed. NEPR has Three Primary Goals
Rescue and Re-homing –We provide rescue care for Great Pyrenees dogs that are lost, abandoned, neglected or surrendered and place them in loving permanent homes. In many instances the dogs have lived with attentive and loving families but due to difficult circumstances, such as divorce or owner death, the Pyr needs to find a new home. In some cases dogs have been neglected or abandoned and have special care needs.

Education – We teach people about the Great Pyrenees breed characteristics and convey information regarding proper dog selection and the importance of spaying and neutering. Members set up educational booths at county fairs, public events, Pet-Co, live stock events, and dog shows to disseminate information and answer questions. We distribute about 500 educational fliers and pamphlets each year a s well as speak to approximately 1,000 people.

Consultation and Assistance – We work with owners who are experiencing behavioral problems with their Pyrs, connecting them with experienced breeders and owners who understand and help resolve their issues of concern. In most instances, with dedicated owners, we can provide easy solutions so the Pyr can remain in their home forever.
