In December 2016 we had a small car rally (Crighton’s Sh&*%box Rally) with 6 cars.  Initially this was to be an end of the year Christmas thanks to the Crightons team, but after the local Pub’s CanAssist funds were robbed we decided to turn this trip into a fundraiser the branch.  We raised an amazing $30+K in just over a month for our local CanAssist branch. 

The 1st year was so much fun, and we had so much support that in 2017 we ran it again under the
banner of Hay Can Rally and had 25 cars on the run and raised an astonishing $144K for CanAssist.

After the success in the formative years of the Rally, a committee was formed and we became a NFP incorporated body with our own ABN. The Hay Rust n Dust Outback Rally was formed and the Rally has become an annual event with the aim to raise funds to assist people in need and to give some money towards research to assist in finding a cure for cancer.

We are very proud to boast in our 3 year history we have raised $310,000+

Within weeks of opening up the Invitations for this year’s Rally we were filling up, all apart from a special space kept aside for “The Corporate Car”. Rally participants have come from all walks of life, aged between 18 and 70, and all genders.

“The Corporate Car” is an innovation by our chairman, Jasen Crighton. This Corporate Car will be awarded to the highest bidder in a silent auction. Winning “The Corporate Car” gives the highest bidder the full use (for the period of the Rally) of the “Corporate Car”, all accommodation and meals for three people throughout the Rally and an experience of a Lifetime full of fun and hilarity.
