About Our Auction

The funds raised in the Silent Auction will be used to support the Racine Literacy Council's mission to provide literacy services and promote awareness to the community about the importance and impact of literacy in Racine County.

Our Open Door Night was originally scheduled on Saturday, March 21, 2020. It has now been rescheduled to Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Memorial Hall in Racine, WI. This event will benefit of The Racine Literacy Council and our numerous adult literacy tutoring programs. We will have a sit down dinner and music featuring Piano Fondue from Madison, WI. Our keynote speaker will be the mayor of Racine, Cory Mason.

Even though our Event has been rescheduled, we are having our silent auction now!

About Racine Literacy Council

Since 1965, Racine Literacy Council has been providing literacy services to adults in the Racine community. Approximately 85% of our clients are residents of the City of Racine. The Racine Literacy Council (RLC) service offering includes programming for adult basic education in reading, writing, math and computer literacy. As well as improving English speaking and writing skill for our English Language Learners (ELL). RLC offers instruction for the written driver’s license exam and CDL licensing. We provide tutoring for citizenship test preparation and classes for financial and health literacy. In 2018 we accomplished a few milestones. We rebranded the organization and expanded our services to include Pre-GED classes and for the first time in the fall a 5.09 High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) program. Our first graduating class is expected in Spring 2019. RLC is also in the midst of providing services to inmates starting late February 2019. This why we are asking for support to continue providing services and expanding our footprint in the community.
