32nd Annual Peter Saracino Alzheimer Golf Auction

The Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region/Alzheimer Society Niagara Foundation is excited to be hosting our 2023 Peter Saracino Alzheimer Golf Classic at the beautiful Legends on the Niagara Golf Course on Wednesday, September 13!

This annual golf tournament is dedicated to the memory of our late Chief Executive Officer. All proceeds will be directed to improving the quality of life for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias/cognitive impairments, as well as their families and caregivers in the Niagara Region.

In Niagara, we have one of the highest percentages of seniors per capita, yet we lack available specialized geriatric resources compared to other communities. Currently, there are over 11,480 people in Niagara alone who are experiencing a progressive dementia, the most common of which is Alzheimer’s disease.

The Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region offers specialized counselling services to mitigate risk, a vast array of wellness and social programs, and opportunities to educate people living with dementia, their families, caregivers, and the public at large.

From 2022-2023, we:
Accepted 2,101 new referrals across the Niagara Region
Served 2,972 unique individuals across all departments
Conducted 10,388 visits across the whole organization
Had an attendance of 5,833 at an education or social program
Provided 23,371 hours of Respite Care
Had an attendance of 160 at our Support Groups
