About Our Auction

Hall of Fame Inductee Vern Stenlund and his sister Carol Stenlund Kajorinne have kindly offered to host an art auction featuring over 50 of their original paintings in support of our organization and our ability to preserve our region's rich sports history. Funds raised will go towards the preservation of artifacts, our educational programs, and keeping our doors open to the public!

One of the items includes a piece called “ No Name Required” simply because when you see a jersey in Boston colours with that number 4 , everyone knows who it belongs to! Vern was lucky enough to have Hockey legend Bobby Orr graciously sign this piece to help in their fundraising efforts.

This event is beginning online on April 8th at 12:00 noon and will end on Saturday, April 23rd at 9:00 pm with the artists and their family and friends following the online bidding action that evening at a reception at the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame.

About Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame

The Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1977 as a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich and proud sports heritage of our region. We operate a sports heritage facility located in Thunder Bay, Ontario (219 May Street South) which includes a sports museum, library and archives and collection of artifacts. Throughout the year we provide educational and community programming and recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of the region’s athletes, builders and teams through Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.

As a non-profit organization we must undertake a variety of fundraising activities to help keep the doors open and the lights on.
