NCTV LUNAFEST® Online Silent Auction

The Nantucket LUNAFEST® event and silent auction will primarily support the NCTV fundraiser campaign for their new broadcast studio. This will allow for real-time broadcast, further enhance their original programming series, and free up space on the main floor to expand and develop their educational programs for youth and adult media arts studies.

Nantucket Community Television (NCTV18) is an essential and vital grassroots journalism resource for all residents and visitors on Nantucket. The station is a unique resource: it already serves critical information needs on the island, such as island governmental meetings and emergency broadcasts on local TV channel 18. NCTV provides communications to the world via its digital channels. Currently, NCTV is producing shows that capture the voices of community leaders. Additionally, it produces original programming focused on topics like history, health, and community interests, and captures “fireside stories” for future generations.
NCTV’s mission is to provide knowledge, insight, and educational interests to capture and broadcast Nantucket’s rich history and cultural importance. With financial support, NCTV will continue to contribute to community building and spark innovation through new programs for all Nantucket residents, year-round or seasonal, as well as visitors to the island.
NCTV is the only television channel for the Island of Nantucket. It is a community public access, or PEG (public, education, and government) and a non-profit 501(c)3. This designation means NCTV focuses broadcasts on public, educational, and government matters. NCTV is also known as the island’s media arts center. It is the go-to resource for educational classes and workshops for adult and youth students, teaching the foundation of multimedia and communication design. Professionals teaching at NCTV are available for mentoring students focused on media arts and communication design who are working on portfolios required for university applications.
