About Our Auction

Gateway Milbridge created the Maine Bicentennial Art Project through grant funding received for art projects in Washington County. The program is based on using 19 wooden cutouts that have been adopted by area artists.

Participating artists include: Janie Snider, Maeve Perry, Karen Schevenieus, Heidi Beal, Ora Aselton, Joanne Halpin, Anthony Surratt, Reneen Freeman, Ken Graslie, Francie Shepherd, Jean Driscoll, Heidi Huckins, Dawn Rachael Dow, Jennifer Kearns, Hazel Carter, Helga Frenner, Kayla Pinkham, Casey Openshaw, and Morgan Look.

The artists used their amazing styles and talents to create beautiful artistic designs for each piece based on the theme, “All Things Maine” in celebration of the Maine Bicentennial. These pieces are meant for indoor use and are truly stunning works of art. They measure 36 inches tall and 24 inches wide. They are certain to make beautiful additions to any home.

Proceeds from auctioning off the Bicentennial Art Pieces will go toward the rebuilding of the Milbridge Theatre as a full service Community Arts Center.
